Une fois encore,je me dis que les parties pianistiques des Lieder de Schubert sont si inspirées, mélodiquement et harmoniquement, qu'elles sont à elles seules (plus de 600!) un magnifique répertoire pianistique. Mais je prends un grand plaisir à me chanter mentalement le poème de L. Rellstab transcendé par une telle musique, ses modulations et ses chromatismes.

The feeling in this song cannot possibly be portrayed properly when in your accompaniment you expect certain phrases to be that fast. I was hoping yours was better, but I'm still looking for a version that allows the emotion to be expressed. Such a shame.

You have truly touched me. For the first time, I can sing my favorite song without fighting and being minimized by Thomas Quasthoff or Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Very artistic performance. I learned this well after college once my voice matured, but i wasn't taking lessons, just learning from the great recordings. This song and the poem are so glorious and connected with how I felt at age 25 so deeply.
